Phonic Spelling

In PHONIC SPELLING, different letter combinations match a specific sound. For PHONIC REGULAR words it implies that the young person can rely on the sounds of the word to help decode (read) or encode (spell) these words. The trick then is to become familiar with the particular sound and the letters that are needed to represent that sound. Activities found in LETTER SOUNDS and PHONIC SPELLING provide opportunities for this matching between sound and letter/s to become automatic. Remember that varied and creative repetition over time is vital to make this part of Long Term Memory LTM.
